Fourth of July is over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the long-weekend festivities ahead.  In Winter Park, Colorado the weekend continues with free movies on the mountain, wine tasting event called Village Uncorked, Farm to Table dinner, and all the outdoor recreation your heart desires.

On Friday, July 5th starts the Village Uncorked wine event.  Sipping wine nestled in the mountains at Winter Park is an elevated wine tasting experience.  There is unlimited wine sampling, cheese, art and incredible views.  Over 40 wines and a variety of cheeses to indulge!  Then, experience a local Farm to Table dinner as your taste buds will be delighted with local flavors.  Seminars take place throughout the day to maximize your wine and cheese skills.

Have kids and family with you?  Don’t fret, there are plenty of activities to keep all ages happy.  Bring everyone out to enjoy the weekly outdoor movies on the big screen.  This weekend on July 5th,  the movie showing is ‘How to Train Your Dragon.’  Join Winter Park on the grassy knoll at the bottom of the cabriolet for a free movie showing.  It is first come/first serve with seating, so bring a blanket or chairs. Relax and enjoy the movie with free popcorn!  Remember mountain weather cools off at night, so bring a jacket and layers.

Stick around for the weekend and enjoy the everyday summer activities at Winter Park Resort.  Awe inspiring views will have you in bliss as you hike around the resort.  Test your skills by hiking (or biking) up the trails from the base area, or take a scenic gondola ride and enjoy hikes from the top of the mountain.  Bring water and stay hydrated as elevation increases and you do not want to risk any issues with altitude.

After working up an appetite, have lunch on top of the mountain or at the base area.  While you are at the bottom, lay a game of human chess or enjoy walking around the village square.  There is something for everyone at Winter Park Resort, so stick around or plan a visit this summer to experience true Colorado mountain fun.
