When in the Winter Park or the greater Grand County area, be sure to take a drive to spend some time at Grand Lake.  While you are there, explore the Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District which is a year-round outdoor destination bordering the majestic Rocky Mountain National Park.  Featuring the Grand Lake Golf Course in the summer and a variety of amazing Nordic skiing terrain in the winter.  The location outside of Rocky Mountain National Park offers panoramic views, fresh mountain air and the guarantee of a memorable outdoor experience.

Year-round recreation opportunities for children and adults offer a variety of fun activities and adventures.  If visiting in the winter months, be sure to explore the Nordic trails.  Enjoy the scenic views of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho National Forest at the Grand Lake Nordic Center where there is beginner to advanced trail options.  Terrain offers 35 km of classic and skate skiing trails.  The trails are also great for snowshoeing, as well as a dedicated dog loop.

Complete the day sledding with family or friends on the FREE tubing hill which is available for guests.  They provide ten tubes to be shared, or you are welcome to bring your own tubes or sleds (as long as the sled does not have a sharp metal edge).

The GLMRD Nordic Center is a full-service, outdoor winter destination that has ski and snowshoe rentals, lessons, a retail shop, and a winter soup kitchen at the Lodge.  Come back in the summer to enjoy the legendary golf course, as well as plentiful hiking and biking trails.  Be sure to visit Grand Lake on your next Grand County vacation!
