Think 12 to 18 Inches of Fresh Homemade Powder

While people were shopping early on 'Black Friday,' we were out early skiing powder on 'white snow Friday!'  A few fluffy inches fell overnight leaving early risers to a delicious post-Thanksgiving treat of whipped, creamy powder turns.  People seemed delighted in those soft, fluffy turns while burning off the mashed potatoes, rather than skiing in mashed potatoes, as it is still dumping in Winter Park.

Weather apps and the Weather Channel are predicting a second snow storm to come in tonight (Friday) leaving 12 – 18 inches of fresh snow on the resorts for the coming weekend.  The Thanksgiving holiday is proving to be one to remember for snow totals.  The lift lines are still short and new snow has allowed more terrain to open.  It is a great time to be skiing at Winter Park slicing up homemade pumpkin pie and homemade powder snow.

After skiing Saturday, head on down to the Holiday Market and Tree Lighting at the Winter Park village to shop hand-crafted Colorado goods and sip mulled wine by the fire in the new Village plaza.  Over 20 local and regional artisans will be selling a variety of gifts and specialties ranging from intricate jewelry and paintings to natural soaps and aromatic candles.  The Holiday Market is both Saturday and Sunday, November 24th and 25th from 12 to 5 p.m.  The annual tree lighting begins around 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 24th.
