Did you hear the news?  Winter Park Resort announced it is opening earlier than projected this season.  Opening Day for the 2019/20 ski season has been set for Saturday, November 2nd.  With more than 40 inches of snow that fell on the resort in October, Winter Park is taking advantage of the incredible early season conditions.

At 8:30 am on November 2nd, skiers and riders can have their chance at being on the first chair with the tradition of going through the opening banner.  The weekend also brings excitement as Winter Park is celebrating its 80th anniversary.  That is truly remarkable to think Winter Park has been operating for 8 full decades bringing passion to the ski industry.

The Marketing Director for Winter Park Resort, Liz Agostin said “Mother Nature brought the snow to Winter Park especially early this year, so we are taking advantage of the conditions and are excited to open the mountain more than a week earlier than expected.”

After all of the snow that fell in October, a sunny weekend is ahead for the mountains which will give skiers and riders that perfect ski day of fresh snow and sunny skies.

Skiers and riders will have access to some of the favorite runs such as Parkside, Parkway, Lower Village Way and Sorenson Park.  Guests can also celebrate with many opening day giveaways.  The Derailer Bar is celebrating by having $1 Coors Light and food specials.

Change whatever plans you had this weekend and head on up to Winter Park, Colorado.  It is going to be a great season ahead!
